Minister Ingabire says India – Africa ICT EXPO is a win-win opportunity for both the African and the Indian communities

Delivering her remarks on India – Africa ICT EXPO 2019 hosted at Kigali Convention Centre, Minister Paula Ingabire said she believes that the EXPO is a win-win opportunity for both the African Community and the Indian community. Minister Ingabire said this on Monday; August 5, 2019; the official inaugural day of the EXPO.

Under the theme ‘India-Africa Summit: Accelerating Africa’s Digital Transformation Agenda, the first-time event in Rwanda-Kigali, the summit co-organized by the ministry of ICT & Innovation, Government of Rwanda and the Ministry of Communication & commerce of the Government of India with the support of Telecom Equipment’s and services Export Promotion Council (TEPC) and it reiterates the relationship and commitment between India, Rwanda and other African countries.

“We look forward to engaging in very meaningful conversations that are not only going to strengthen the India - Africa collaboration but most importantly to forge new and stronger partnerships between our communities. The partnerships that we are seeking to build here today, are partnerships around creating capacity within the two communities, being able to co-create and co-develop solutions that are going to be transformational for both India and Africa.” said Minister Ingabire

The summit has attracted over 400 participants, including Ministers of ICT and Communication, Public and Private Sector, International Organizations, Industry Leaders, Investors, Entrepreneurs, Young Innovators, Civil Society and Academia.

This Conference has brought together over 100 ICT companies from India and other African Countries, Participants Will discuss constructive pathways to leapfrog Africa’s Digital Transformation by creating sustainable Partnership for Africa Innovators to realize their full potential hence contributing to the Socio-economic transformation

The Conference is also expected to offer a platform for dialogue between governments and the private sector to seek lasting technology solutions to deliver Africa’s socio-economic transformation. It will also provide a space for young innovators from Africa to showcase their potential for creating home grown innovation.
